Ferrari Challenge: Trofeo Pirelli is part of the ever expanding genre of poker-faced racing simulation. Made popular by the powerfully nerdy Gran Turismo series and Microsoft's attempt to rival it, Forza, along with every formula one game ever made, this is racing that demands slavish devotion to braking distances, adherence to the racing line and precision in targeting the exact apex of corners. With all its driving aids turned on, this is a manageable task, but as you switch them off the 50 or so Ferraris available show you in short order how difficult it is to race powerful cars without spending more time off the track than on it. Developer Eutechnyx has made the most of PS3's imprecise analogue control for steering and Tiff Needell provides words of encouragement and sarcasm, but you'd be pressed to call it fun.
